The Kharkiv teams met in the 27th round of the Ukrainian Premier League. The game took place at the Kolos Stadium in Kovalivka. After a scoreless first half, Mykyta Bezuglyi and Andriy Chiruk scored goals in the second half to give the team a convincing victory and three points.
Currently, FC Metalist 1925 has 30 points, with three more football matches ahead: against Ingulets, Kryvbas and Dynamo Kyiv. So the players are determined.
“I congratulate the team and everyone who cares. The victory in the derby is worth a lot! This is the case when the result meant much more than the content of the football match. The match is not for aesthetes, but three points are more important than anything else,” said Andrey Nedelin, Executive Director of FC Metalist 1925.
Konstantin Valeulin, President of AES Group, the investment and industrial group that owns the club, also congratulated the players on their victory:
